Building on a Legacy

Growing up in the Fountain Creek area, I have known Bruce and Pam since I was a boy helping on the family farm. I remember picking up seed from their warehouse (sometimes at all hours of night!) when we were working long hours in season. They always went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed to get the job done. Bruce and Pam are the best of the best. As their customer, you don’t need me to tell you this. I know that each of you have stories of how they have gone above and beyond time and time again making sure that each of you have the products, service, and knowledge to succeed on your farm.

Bruce and Pam approached us several years ago and asked us to consider taking over Fountain Creek Seed, their Pioneer seed agency. To be honest, running a seed agency wasn’t even on my radar. But with the legacy of service they have built, there was no way we could turn down the offer to be a part of what they had started. We are truly honored to follow in their footsteps and strive to live up to the high bar they set.

My professional background

After college, graduating with an ag business degree, I worked at an equipment dealership as a Precision Ag Technician.

In 2012, I moved back to the Cissna Park area and started my own Precision Ag Technology business working with AgLeader and Trimble products.

In 2014 we added agronomy services to the business, becoming an Encirca Services Agent. Encirca (which went on to be rebranded as Granular) was an agronomy software package developed by Pioneer Agronomy. Working with Encirca and Granular gave us many opportunities to work with Pioneer teams.

Now, as a Certified Crop Advisor, we offer soil testing, fertilizer recommendations, variable rate seeding, and nitrogen recommendations. We are excited for the chance to combine seed products and plans with nutrient management recommendations to provide customers with the tools that they need to be more productive and efficient on their farms.

About my family

In 2010, I married the love of my life, Natali. She has always been a big part of my business — from bookkeeping and helping in the field to taking soil samples in season. She works side-by-side with me, supports me, motivates me, and keeps me humble. She is excited to be a part of our seed business and to get to know all of you!

In the meantime, we’ve got our hands full at home. After nine years of marriage and unable to have kids, God blessed us with Harkin Joy in 2019. Before we could blink, along came Rowan Mark in 2021. And then Hazel Ann was born this summer. As you might imagine, with two toddlers and an infant, our house is a circus a lot of the time! It’s been the biggest blessing to see them learn and grow and to see the next generation start to share our love of agriculture.

Plans for the future

For the next two to three years, we are planning to work primarily out of Bruce and Pam’s seed warehouse — that you are already accustomed to. They will also be supporting us, teaching us, and helping with seed treating.

Another new face you’ll see around is Payton Kaeb, who has been working for us nearly a year now helping with our agronomy and Precision Ag business. He has been learning quickly about agronomy and working his way toward becoming a Certified Crop Advisor. His knowledge will be extremely helpful with our Pioneer customers as well as in servicing the agronomy business.

Adrian Kaeb has also accepted a position to start working with us this fall. Soon I’ll be outnumbered by Kaebs, and I think that’s a good thing! Their work ethic and willingness to learn will be invaluable in servicing our existing business and growing our Pioneer seed agency.

For those I already know and work with, I look forward to working with you in new ways as our Pioneer agency grows. And if you don’t know us, we look forward to earning your business and your friendship as we seek to serve our Lord, our community, and your farms into the future.
